Host…………..Tamara Taggart

Tamara Taggart is a third generation Vancouverite.  Growing up, she dreamed of moving to New York to become a star…instead she worked hard at various part-time jobs (cleaning stables, selling shoes, developing x-rays, cashier) to put herself through school.  It was at BCIT where the “broadcasting bug” bit her.  After graduating in Broadcast Communications, Tamara’s jobs took her from radio to Concert Promoting.  In 1997 the world of television came knocking and life hasn’t been the same since.

Many doors have opened for Tamara – and she’s walked through every single one of them, never looking back.  It was the CTV Community Calendar “In Touch” that started it all, from there she co-hosted the Breakfast Show and then Entertainment during the evening News.

For the past 4 years Tamara has been CTV’s Weathercaster during CTV News at Five, CTV News at Six and CTV News at 11:30.  Not one to sit still for too long, Tamara has broadcast the weather while on location racing pigs, flipping pancakes, dancing and dragon boat racing (just to name a few).   In her spare time Tamara visits local Elementary Schools to teach kids about the weather.

On weekends you can find Tamara redecorating homes around Greater Vancouver as the host of the new HGTV hit show “Love It or Lose It”.  Homeowners take their chances with a mystery designer and Tamara’s there every step of the way, having the time of her life.  It’s the perfect way for this home reno fan to spend her free time!

Tamara has appeared in the feature films; AntiTrust, Josie and the Pussy Cats, Halloween 8 and Along Came a Spider and also tried her acting on series television including, Robson Arms, Cold Squad and Touching Evil.

The Georgia Straight Annual Reader’s Poll has named Tamara as Best TV Weather Person and Best TV Personality in 2002, 2003 and 2004.  She was honored as the “Woman of the Year” at the Consumer’s Choice Awards in 2003 and has graced the cover of TV Week Magazine 3 times – and was named one of BC’s 10 Most Beautiful People.

Tamara and her fiancé share their home with Murray (cat) and Stanley (dog).
