Country…………. Haward Dwright Palmateer
Haward
grew up in north central BC with mixed Native Indian and
European ancestry.
Initially he studied and worked in First Nation’s
education and employment; however, he harbored a strong
interest in furniture design and finishing. He left
government employment in a quest to develop his personal
interest in this area. Twelve years ago he and his
partner Kelly opened the highly acclaimed Vancouver store,
Farmhouse Collections. One of the most
exciting aspects of this design was the opportunity to develop
and adapt country furniture seen in his youth in log cabins,
hunting lodges and farms. Stylistically, Haward’s
interests include north American country, but he has begun to
integrate more European country elements, such as coved crown
moldings, pillars and art work finishes.
